I Love the Moon
One thing I find amazing about our perspective on the planet we call Earth is that our moon and sun (named Moon and Sun–how generic is that?), although millions of miles apart, happen to look almost the same exact size in our sky. The sun is 400 times larger than the moon but we think of them as even, balancing out day and night due to some stellar coincidence. How’s that for a grand design?

My photograph of our moon taken through the lens of a telescope. A mysterious and unfortunate shadow resulted.

That’s not a shadow. That’s how the moon blushes when you take a picture of it.
